CySo account or mailbox?
Your CySo account is how you sign in to this website (by an email link or with Microsoft). Your mailboxes are the email accounts CySo reads for you. Signing in to CySo never needs your email password.
What is an app password?
A separate password your email provider creates for one app. It can be cancelled any time without changing your normal password, and it is safer than your real one.
- Gmail: turn on 2-Step Verification in your Google Account, then open Security, App passwords, type "CySo Mail" and tap Create. Copy all 16 letters. Google Workspace users without "App passwords" need their IT admin to allow it.
- CySo mail: in webmail, open Settings, Authentication tokens, New token, and use the token as the app password.
- Other providers: search your provider's help for "app password" and for the IMAP and SMTP server names.
- Outlook and Hotmail: Microsoft no longer allows app passwords for most accounts. "Sign in with Microsoft" for mailboxes is coming soon.
Approvals
CySo never sends an email, deletes for good or adds a mailbox without a person's OK. Requests reach approvers by email, on the Approvals page and in Telegram if connected. Your AI assistant cannot approve anything.
Adding CySo to your AI app
See Add CySo Mail to your AI app after signing in, then ask your assistant "Help me set up CySo Mail".
